Birthday Tribute: Nigerian Woman Shares How University Friendship at Michael Okpara University Turned Into Marriage

A Nigerian woman, Queen Shulammite, has shared a touching birthday tribute to her husband, Royal Nweke, recalling how their love story began during their undergraduate days at Michael Okpara University of Agriculture, Umudike.

In a post shared on her Facebook page, she celebrated her husband’s birthday while narrating how a chance encounter in her first year eventually blossomed into marriage.

According to her, they first met near Achebe Hall shortly after she gained admission into the university.

“I still remember the very first day I met you somewhere close to Achebe Hall when I newly entered school. I was just roaming about… completely confused and looking lost. Then out of nowhere, you appeared and helped me out,” she wrote.

She described how the encounter marked the beginning of a close relationship throughout her time in school, noting that her husband was consistently supportive from her 100 level days.

She also recalled frequent visits to his spot after lectures, jokingly describing it as her “personal restaurant and relaxation center,” where she often had Pepsi with local snacks like okpa and moi moi.

“People even thought we were siblings, some thought we were dating because of how close we were. Meanwhile, God was quietly writing one beautiful love story behind the scenes,” she added.

Queen Shulammite further mentioned that Royal Nweke assisted her with online school registrations during her studies, sometimes without charging her, though she would jokingly complain when he did.

She concluded her tribute with prayers for her husband, wishing him divine blessings, success, and the fulfillment of his heart’s desires as he celebrated his birthday.
