Ini Dima-Okojie Expecting First Child With Husband After Long Battle With Fibroids

Nollywood actress Ini Dima-Okojie has announced that she is expecting her first child after years of dealing with uterine fibroids and related health challenges.

Abia Radio News reports that she shared the news on Wednesday through her Instagram page, where she posted a video showing her baby bump and spoke about her journey into motherhood.

In her message, she expressed gratitude for the experience, saying she feels thankful for how things have unfolded in her life. She described pregnancy as a special moment for her and said she feels a deep sense of joy as she prepares to become a mother.

Ini also reflected on how her life is changing with the pregnancy, noting that both her body and emotions are going through a new phase. She said she is thankful for the experience and sees it as a special gift.

She wrote: “I get to be a mother🥹 What a miracle. What a privilege. What a calling. ‘Before I formed you in the womb I knew you.’ …Jeremiah 1:5 Every day, I am in awe. Every day, I whisper thank you.

“My body is changing, my heart is expanding, and my life will never be the same again. And I wouldn’t have it any other way.”

Her announcement comes after she was open in the past about her struggle with uterine fibroids. In 2017, she was diagnosed with the condition, which led her to undergo surgery in 2020 to remove the growths.

In 2024, she revealed that the fibroids had returned a few years after her surgery. At that time, she shared that the development was difficult for her to accept, and she decided not to rush into another operation. Instead, she focused on other ways of managing her health.

She also used her experience to encourage women to go for regular medical checkups and to speak more openly about fibroids, which are common among women of reproductive age.
